ABOUT KATHLEEN BARBER
KATHLEEN BARBER
Fine Art Photographer • Mixed-Media Painter
I’m Kathleen — a fine art photographer Pacific Northwest-based, and a mixed-media painter rooted in nature’s textures and moods. My work is deeply inspired by the wild beauty of the Oregon Coast: old-growth forests draped in moss, waves sculpting weathered cliffs, and the quiet bloom of flowers grown in a garden I once tended.
For 25 years, I grew flowers and then crafted them into arrangements as a florist — this journey taught me to see florals not just as subjects, but as allegories of memory, place, and transformation. My transition from flower farm to fine-art photography is central to my voice: I now create botanical & coastal art prints that feel like snapshots of emotion.
My two whippets keep me moving: beach walks, tide-pool searches, and agate collecting along the shoreline. These moments anchor my lens and brush to story, place, and light.
