ABOUT KATHLEEN BARBER

Fine Art Photographer • Mixed-Media Painter

Kathleen gets her inspiration from her home base of the Pacific Northwest. Her art and photography have evolved; drawn from her travels and firsthand photography, she then transforms it through layered textures and painterly treatments applied in post-processing. The result is a soft, atmospheric piece that blends realism with an expressive, hand-painted aesthetic, capturing both place and mood through my artistic vision.

Her work is deeply inspired by the wild beauty of the Oregon Coast: old-growth forests draped in moss, waves sculpting weathered cliffs, and the quiet bloom of flowers grown in a garden I once tended.

For 25 years, she has grown flowers and then crafted them into arrangements as a florist. This journey taught her to see florals not just as subjects, but as allegories of memory, place, and transformation. Her transition from flower farm to fine-art photography is central to her voice: I now create botanical & coastal art prints that feel like snapshots of emotion.

My two whippets keep her moving: beach walks, tide-pool searches, and agate collecting along the Pacific Coast shoreline.
