KATHLEEN BARBER ARTIST
As an artist living in the Pacific Northwest, my work is influenced by the natural beauty surrounding me and its representation of the natural world and a celebration of it. The lush forests, rugged coastline, and dramatic mountains inspire me to create art that reflects the majesty and wonder of the outdoors.
Whether creating a landscape painting or a mixed media piece that incorporates hues that are reminiscent of pine, spruce, fir, stormy greys, fallen timber, soft moss under your feet, and golden beaches, my goal is always the same: to capture the essence of the Pacific Northwest and share it with others through my art.
Using a camera as one of her tools, she can capture a reference image that she transforms into a fully custom museum-quality piece of artwork. Kathleen says, as we evolve so does the art world, it is constantly changing with new techniques. She uses those modern techniques to hand paint every stroke of the mixed media portrait.
I hope my work inspires you to appreciate and protect the environment and to seek out their connections to the natural world.
Kathleen's studio is in Warrenton, Oregon.
