Pacific Northwest Inspired Paintings

My goal in 2022 was to get out and enjoy the beauty surrounding me in the Pacific Northwest. I planned several trips so I could capture some of the beauty that nature has to offer. Primarily cell phone photos because I’m a wimp, and carrying my heavy camera around in the woods and up hills over logs and boulders isn’t my jam.

I was hoping to get inspiration from my travels. I decided on making a collection of painted artwork portraits that pull in some of the organic elements of the wooded forest, ocean, and high desert. So I added the Cascadia Collection; you can see samples here .

This trip primarily took place in the high desert of Central Oregon, from La Pine to Prineville. Have you been traveling in the Northwest lately? It’s amazing how the climate has changed, and the reservoirs are so much lower than 15 years ago.

See a theme? I love how water seems to stretch to infinity.

The world's largest known living ponderosa pine is in North America. It is believed to be more than 500 years old. You can find it at La Pine State Park in Central Oregon.
