The Definition of Fine Art by Kathleen

Kathleen Barber photographer and artist in Warrenton Oregon.

Welcome!

I’m Kathleen, the creator behind every image on this site. Growing up along Oregon’s northern coast instilled in me a lifelong love for the outdoors, a passion that continues to inspire my work.

For over 20 years, I nurtured and harvested flowers as a flower farmer, growing and selling blooms that I also designed into arrangements for weddings and special occasions. Today, my gardens still flourish, providing a bounty of flowers that I photograph and incorporate into my art.

As the art world evolves, so do my creative techniques. I embrace modern methods to hand-paint each stroke in my mixed-media portraits, transforming a simple photograph into a custom, museum-quality work of art. My camera is just the beginning—every piece I create is a fusion of photography and artistic vision, designed to elevate a moment into timeless decor. From capturing reference images to printing, matting, and even framing, I pour years of skill and craftsmanship into delivering art that is truly unique and personal.

What is Fine Art?

Fine art is where photography meets imagination, where the artist transforms a concept into something extraordinary. Unlike traditional photography, fine art is crafted with the intention of becoming a focal point for your walls—a high-caliber piece that reflects both beauty and vision.

I invite you to explore my work and join me on this creative journey.

Cheers! Kathleen
